Fort Collins Drywall Pros is a drywall contractor based in midtown Fort Collins, a few blocks off College Avenue. What we do
Complete hang, tape and finish for new homes, additions, remodels and garages. We choose the right board for each room, from Type X to mold resistant, and one crew carries the job from delivery to the final sanded, primer-ready wall.
Doorknob holes, recurring cracks, nail pops, torn paper and damaged corner bead, patched so they vanish under paint. We back every large patch, match your existing texture and prime the repair, with dust contained from start to finish.
Taping, mudding and sanding to the Gypsum Association's finish levels. Level 4 suits most rooms, while a Level 5 skim coat keeps walls flawless under glossy paint and big windows. We also take finish-only work for builders.
Knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, stipple and hand textures matched so a patch disappears in window light. We test every pattern on scrap board first, and we can also convert dated heavy textures to smooth, modern walls.
Asbestos testing through a certified inspector comes first, as Colorado requires. Then we seal the room in plastic, wet-scrape the texture, skim coat the ceiling and finish it smooth or lightly textured, ready for paint.

Local knowledge
Fort Collins houses tell you when they were built. Old Town and the blocks around Colorado State University still have lath-and-plaster walls from before the 1950s. Midtown ranches and split-levels from the 1960s and 1970s carry popcorn ceilings, and the subdivisions that spread south and east from the 1980s on are finished in knockdown and orange peel over unfinished basements.
Much of that ground is expansive clay, which the Colorado Geological Survey counts among the state's most significant geologic hazards. Combine it with winter air that dries framing lumber and roof trusses that lift in the cold, and you get the diagonal cracks, nail pops and ceiling-corner cracks we fix every week. Our drywall repair work is built around those causes.
The City builds to the 2021 International Codes with local amendments and, since December 26, 2025, the 2024 energy code with its own local changes. For drywall, that means insulation inspections before board goes up and fire separations that inspectors check closely. Our drywall installation crews schedule around both.
